You are taking me all the way back to childhood with this one, Sarah Pachelli. Superfood Cacao Rice Crispies? YES PLEASE!!!!!
Look for these Brown Rice Cacao Crisps at Whole Foods or your local health food store. If you can't find them, look for a brown rice crisp cereal and add a tablespoon of cacao powder to it when making the nut butter mixture.
Place your 4 cups of crisps in a large mixing bowl.
Combine the nut butter, brown rice syrup, maple syrup, sea salt, vanilla powder and ashwagandha in a small pot over low heat. Stir continuously until everything is mixed together and smooth, it will have a melted consistency. Remove from the heat and fold into the cereal.
Press into a parchment-lined baking sheet (It will make 1/2 a sheet) with the back of a spoon or silicone spatula. You can wet your hands too to press it down a bit if it gets very sticky. Freeze for 30 minutes, then cut into squares. Store in the fridge or freezer and enjoy!
Makes 1/2 a baking sheet worth of crispies
